Club members were eagerly anticipating the Honorable Bob Trumble’s novel approach to this month’s 774th consecutive meeting. Instead, due to the unprecedented physical distancing requirements of the even more novel Covid-19 virus outbreak, and by order of our president, Walt DeWalt, the 774th Meeting of the Harpers Ferry Cooking Club was forced to go virtual (and viral) on Zoom™ at 7:00 EST on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
The official toast was captured live and uncensored for the record! Thanks to technology, and a few stalwart members (Dick, Bill H., and John W.) who met, at an appropriate distance, on Bill’s porch with libation and pretzels, the 65-year monthly meeting streak remains unbroken! We were sorry to miss your meal, Bob, but here’s to a rerun, the 775th, and the end to physical distancing. Be well, and stay thirsty friends.
